XIV International Congress of Jacobean Associations

Croatia wins 26th Elias Valina Award

The Xunta de Galicia has announced that the Confraternity of St. James – Croatia has won the 26th Elías Valiña Award, joining a select group of Camino organizations recognized for safeguarding the values of the Camino de Santiago.

Samuel Lutz-Léchot: A Visionary of European Pilgrimage

Samuel Lutz-Léchot (1944–2025) was a visionary figure in the European pilgrimage movement. As the first president of the Swiss Pilgrimage Association jakobsweg.ch, he dedicated his life to promoting the Camino de Santiago routes across Europe.

The International Xacobeo Congress returns to Compostela -November 13th to 15th

The Galician capital is preparing to host a new edition of the International Xacobeo Congress. The event will this year revolve around the theme: “The Way of St. James, a meeting of cultures. A philosophy of hospitality.”

A printed Compostela from the year 1529 was found in Arenys de Mar.

In the documentary holdings of the former Batllia of Arenys, in the Fidel Fita Historical Archive in Arenys de Mar (Barcelona), there is a 13.8 x 5.0 cm parchment fragment - a certificate of having completed the pilgrimage to Sant Jaume in Galicia.

More than 11,500 pilgrims walk the Portuguese Way in October

The Portuguese Way continues to solidify its position as one of the most popular routes for those undertaking the pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostela. During the month of October, a total of 11,556 pilgrims completed this route - a 17% increase from the last year
