On Sunday 21 June 2026 — the summer solstice, the longest day of light — we invite you to walk with us for peace.
Camino for Peace is a simultaneous walk along Camino routes across Europe, on the same day, in solidarity with the people of Ukraine and all who suffer from war.
WHY WE WALK
The Camino de Santiago — Europe’s first cultural itinerary — has united the peoples of our continent for 1,200 years across more than 80,000 km of routes through 29 countries. It has endured every chapter of our history, including our wars, and has always led us back to one another.
The Camino de Santiago in Ukraine represents a symbolic space of freedom for our Ukrainian friends, who can walk it during these turbulent times. This route is a symbol of the values upon which Europe was founded: democracy, mutual respect, spirituality, hospitality and, ultimately, freedom and peace.
Camino Europa Compostela wishes to support its Ukrainian member, the ‘Association of Friends of St James’ Way in Ukraine’, as well as its sister association, the ‘Camino Podolico’, through tangible action.
We’ll walk in solidarity with Ukrainian people and pilgrims.
The Camino endures. Ultreia, Ukraine. Europe stands with you.
