The General Assembly highlighted the historical and contemporary European dimension of the Ways of St James. It emphasised the vital role of the values of the Ways of St James in building the future of Europe. These values are Freedom, the pursuit of peace, sacred hospitality, respect for all, and openness to the spiritual dimension of humanity. During the Assembly, progress on Camino Europa Compostela’s main projects was presented. A passionate call to cooperate and strengthen mutual ties was issued to all members.

A walking initiative to support peace efforts in Ukraine and to support the Camino Podolico, the Way of St James in Ukraine, will be launched in the wake of this assembly. It will be open to members of the other European Federation, the European Federation of the Way of St James, for whom support for the cause of peace in Ukraine is also of great importance.  Further information: www.caminoeuropacompostela.eu
