About us
We, the founding members of the European Jacobean Union, known as Europa Compostela, have joined forces to launch the following project:
– Support and sustain associated Jacobean associations and federations on the European continent in their most important activities: informing people who wish to walk the Camino de Santiago, facilitating their plans, and providing hospitality along the way.
– Represent the European Jacobean associations and federations that will adhere to the Europa Compostela Statute, serving as a privileged interlocutor before the European Union, the Council of Europe, UNESCO, local groups, civil institutions, and other institutions on the Ways of Saint James.
– Promote the fundamental values that characterize the Camino de Santiago in all its historical, cultural, humanistic, and spiritual dimensions, including sharing, solidarity, and tolerance of personal aspirations, based on the ethics of the Camino.
– Cooperate and ensure communication and coordination with other non-associated Jacobean associations and with civil and religious institutions within the framework of the interests of the Ways
of St. James.
